John Himle brings years of diverse experience to Himle LLC, developing strategy and advising clients with seasoned counsel to some of their most complicated and, at times, controversial challenges.  Himle partners with client teams and/or additional outside resources to help advise on tactical implementation if needed.


ASSESSMENTS, INSIGHTS & STRATEGIC PLANNING

 
  • Significant experience in the design and analysis of both quantitative and qualitative research.

  • Conduct candid assessment interviews with key stakeholders -- distill findings, conclusions, and recommendations.

  • Provide ongoing analysis of a client’s risk environment.

  • Manage strategic planning and design plans that add value and define a future direction for the organization.


STRATEGY, COUNSEL -- SHAPING BUSINESS DECISIONS

 
  • “At the table” to advise management and boards re: controversial business decisions.

  • Develop scenarios, strategic options, implications – help clients see “what’s around the corner.”

  • Advise clients on what they need to hear vs. what they want to hear.


REPUTATION/ RISK

 
  • Assess risks to reputation and scale of risk exposure - especially “outrage risks.”

  • Advise on risks related to activist and social media pressure, political, consumer, employee, etc.

  • Develop positioning options, strategy and compelling narratives, scaled to risk exposures.

  • Provide ongoing advice/counsel to emerging reputational risks, measures to protect reputation.


PUBLIC AFFAIRS & ISSUES MANAGEMENT

 
  • Work with client PA/GR teams to assess political and policy environment.

  • Provide strategy related to community impact, CSR and recruiting third-party support.

  • Develop advocacy strategy, positioning options, narratives to help advance policy and community objectives.

  • Deliver ongoing assessments, advice, and strategy.


CRISIS MANAGEMENT

 
  • Pro-actively advise clients with respect to crisis risks and prevention/mitigation measures.

  • Work alongside legal (internal GC, external legal/litigation counsel) to develop coordinated strategy.

  • Develop scenarios/implications and help shape decisions to minimize adverse consequences to the client.

  • Identify compelling arguments/messages.
